22 Day Community Service

Would you like to spend time volunteering in Israel? Do you need volunteer credit hours for school? Have you thought about improving your Hebrew skills? This is an amazing program that will do all that and more! You will spend 22 days in Israel, living and volunteering in Youth Villages. There will also be time spent improving your Hebrew skills , relaxing on the beach, as well as touring amazing sites and cities such as Tel Aviv and the underground Crusader’s City of Akko. You don’t want to miss out on this fantastic opportunity!

Depart on your flight to Tel Aviv

Monday, June 27, 2011 – Welcome Home
Shalom and Welcome Home!

• Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport and meet your representative
• Transfer to the Youth Village near Netanya, enjoy a short orientation tour of the site and prepare yourself for the weeks stay

Friday, July 1, 2011 – The City that Never Sleeps

• Enjoy a half day of touring in Tel Aviv
• Spend the afternoon in Tel Aviv strolling the Nahalat Binyamin open arts and crafts market and trendy Shenkin Street

Saturday, July 2, 2011 – Shabbat at the Village

• Spend the day relaxing and enjoying the beach below the Village

Sunday, July 3, 2011 – Mediterranean Shores

• Say goodbye to the Neurim Village as you set out on a day trip
• Start the day with a visit to Mei Kedem, the origin of the Herodian Aqueduct leading water into Caesarea
• View Haifa from atop Mt. Carmel
• Drive to the northern most border point between Israel and Lebanon on the Mediterranean shore

Monday, July 4, 2011 – Volunteer and Enrichment

• Enjoy afternoon and expand your knowledge while attending an enrichment lecture

Friday, July 8, 2011 – Akko, the Crusaders City

• Drive to the Crusaders City of Akko. Explore the underground Crusaders City including the Knights Halls and the Templar Escape Tunnels.
• Afternoon stroll the oriental bazaars and return to the Village for Shabbat

Saturday, July 9, 2011 – Shabbat at the Village

• Spend the day relaxing and enjoying the surroundings of the Village

Sunday, July 10, 2011 -

• Depart Manof Village and travel south to Kfar Silver
• Stop at the ancient site of Tzippori to explore the unique mosaic floors with the "Mona Lisa of the Galilee"
• Travel to the Valley of Beit Shean and enjoy a short hike at Nahal Ha'Kibbutzim
• End the day relaxing at Gan Hashlosha (Sachne) warm springs at the foot of Mount Gilboa

Friday, July 15, 2011 – Ashquelon, the City of the Gentiles of the Sea

• Drive to the nearby city of Ashquelon to visit the ancient ruins of this Philistines port city
Enjoy the afternoon at the beach and return to the Village for Shabbat

Saturday, July 16, 2011 – Shabbat at the Village

• Spend the day relaxing and enjoying the surroundings of the Village

Sunday, July 17, 2011 – Leavin' on a Jet Plane

• Spend the morning by the pool
• Depart for Ben Gurion Airport
• Upon arrival at Ben Gurion Airport transfer to your departure gate for your return flight
